Financial Services Trader

About the role

A client in the financial sector, recruited through Summit Recruitment & Search, is looking for a Financial Services Trader based in Nairobi. The trader manages securities transactions, supports investment operations, maintains client relationships and ensures compliance with financial regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Source clients and buy and sell securities on their behalf or on behalf of the company
• Monitor daily market activity, conduct market research and identify investment opportunities
• Analyse financial data and track the performance of securities, stocks, bonds and other instruments
• Inform clients about financial products, market trends and investment opportunities
• Build and maintain client and investor relationships, handling inquiries and transaction issues
• Support client onboarding and account management, keeping accurate records of accounts and portfolios
• Process transactions accurately and on time, keeping proper records and documentation
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly transaction reports, market reports and investment summaries
• Ensure compliance with Capital Markets Authority (CMA) regulations and company policies, and support audit and compliance reviews
• Maintain confidentiality of client and company financial information and stay updated on market and regulatory developments

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or a related field
• CPA, CISI, ACCA or another relevant financial certification is an added advantage
• High level of integrity and professionalism
• Strong understanding of financial markets and investment products
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, with attention to detail and accuracy
