About the role
We are seeking a qualified Pharmacist to join our hospital pharmacy in Nairobi, Westlands. The role involves overseeing safe dispensing, medication management, and supporting clinical services across the hospital.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee safe dispensing procedures and monitor pharmacy technologists.
- Implement proactive interventions throughout the medication management and use system to reduce errors.
- Engage with client concerns and provide timely feedback.
- Manage pharmacy service flow and turn‑around times.
- Implement quality policies and departmental performance indicators.
- Participate in drug use reviews and ward rounds.
- Manage stock, control variations, and ensure accurate preparation of high‑alert medications.
- Prepare and submit reports on medication errors, interventions, stock variance, and client satisfaction.
- Support antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
- Track, report, and act on key pharmacy performance indicators.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Pharmacy from a recognized university.
- Registration Certificate and Practice License from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy hospital pharmacy setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (preferred).
- Evidence of knowledge and experience in chemotherapy and IV admixture techniques.
