HR Officer – Operations & Administration

About the role

The HR Officer will serve as the operational backbone of Jawabu Biashara’s HR function, ensuring smooth delivery of all people‑related services across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to off‑boarding.
• Maintain accurate employee records, HR systems and data integrity.
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure statutory compliance (PAYE, NSSF, SHIF/NHIF).
• Administer performance and development processes.
• Coordinate training initiatives and produce HR reports.
• Handle employee relations, policy enforcement and culture building.
• Manage benefits, vendor relationships and HR budget.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business or related field.
• IHRM membership (or eligibility) required.
• 2–4 years of progressive HR operations/administration experience, preferably in a growth‑focused lending entity.
• Hands‑on experience with payroll processing and statutory remittances.
• Familiarity with Kenyan labour law and compliance requirements.
• Strong ethical standards, integrity and confidentiality.

• HRIS/payroll platforms (Wingu Box or equivalent).
