HR Specialist, Recruitment

About the role

The HR Specialist, Recruitment manages end-to-end international recruitment assignments and stakeholder relationships within the World Bank's Talent Acquisition and Global Mobility Department. The role reports to the Regional Talent Acquisition Lead and contributes to implementing a new talent acquisition model, improving efficiency, consistency and data-driven decision making across recruitment. It is a full-time position in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle recruitment process for an assigned client group, working with recruiters, HR business partners, recruitment service teams and hiring managers.
• Partner with hiring managers to define talent strategies and advise on labour market trends and competitive landscapes.
• Use global sourcing and screening techniques to find skilled and diverse candidates, and build talent pipelines through talent mapping and market research.
• Advise clients in the region and help gain buy-in for a new recruitment model.
• Conduct compensation evaluations and negotiate candidate offers.
• Nurture candidates and manage them through the recruitment process.
• Use recruitment systems and LinkedIn Recruiter to track candidates, record decisions, maintain data and produce recruitment metrics and reports.
• Support team and department initiatives and recruitment working groups.

Required profile

• Master's degree with at least 5 years of relevant international recruitment experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing several recruitment assignments in complex, fast-paced environments.
• Ability to influence senior leaders, hiring managers and stakeholders in large organisations.
• Ability to work in diverse, multicultural settings with diplomacy, cultural sensitivity and discretion.
• Strong judgment in assessment, selection and compensation decisions based on market data and institutional policy.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English; professional proficiency in a regional language is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter and ATS/CRM platforms.
• Ability to gather, analyse and turn data into actionable recruitment insights.
