ICT Intern – Software Development (Nairobi)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic ICT Intern to join our software development team in Nairobi. The role offers hands‑on experience building web applications that support AMREF Health Africa’s mission to improve health outcomes across the continent.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining front‑end features using React.js, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
• Support back‑end development with C# on .NET Core / ASP.NET Core, including API integration.
• Write and execute unit tests, debug code, and contribute to code reviews.
• Collaborate with senior developers to design database schemas and query Microsoft SQL Server.
• Provide basic IT support, software installation, and troubleshooting for the development team.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with good problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and incorporate feedback.
