Innovation Portfolio Lead Consultant – Poverty Eradication Lab

About the role

The Poverty Eradication Lab (PEL) at FINCA International is seeking a senior consultant to lead its frontier innovation portfolio. The role focuses on non‑credit and cross‑sector pilots that advance the organization’s mission in areas such as insurance, agriculture, and education finance.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑end portfolio management for assigned non‑credit and exploratory innovation pilots, from intake through completion and scale recommendations.
• Define customer and market problems, develop pilot hypotheses, success measures and execution plans.
• Develop product vision, business case, prototypes, SOPs and performance trackers for each pilot.
• Assess and manage external partnerships with donors, insurers and technical partners.
• Coordinate with Human‑Centered Design, research, program, subsidiary and global product teams, and provide regular reporting to the Chief Product Officer.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in product management, venture building or innovation program leadership, preferably in financial inclusion, insurance or emerging markets.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, international development or a related field; advanced degree a plus.

Required skills

• Experience developing or launching financial products such as parametric, bundled or micro‑insurance.
• Strong ability to structure and manage external partnerships with donors, insurers and technical partners.
