About the role
The Norwegian Refugee Council is seeking an experienced Investigation Manager to lead its Office of Internal Audit & Investigation in Nairobi. The role involves overseeing complex, sensitive investigations across the organization, ensuring rigorous, victim‑centred approaches and maintaining investigative independence.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, lead and execute complex investigations in government, non‑profit and private‑sector contexts.
- Apply victim‑centred, trauma‑informed and confidentiality‑sensitive methodologies.
- Utilise modern investigative tools and technology‑enabled methods, including automated tools.
- Handle allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse.
- Supervise and mentor investigators and multidisciplinary teams, providing technical guidance and quality‑assurance feedback.
- Prepare comprehensive investigation reports and ensure confidentiality throughout case handling.
- Collaborate with other functions while preserving investigative independence.
Required profile
- Advanced university degree in Law, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or related field (or Bachelor’s plus two additional years of experience).
- Minimum eight years of progressively responsible investigative experience, with at least three years at the international level.
- Demonstrated experience with victim‑centred, trauma‑informed investigations and handling sexual misconduct cases.
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary investigative teams and provide quality assurance.
- Fluency in English.
