Lecturer - Cognitive Neuroscience

About the role

The United States International University – Africa seeks a dedicated Lecturer in Cognitive Neuroscience to join its vibrant faculty in Nairobi. The successful candidate will teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students while contributing to the university’s research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Teach and assess undergraduate and graduate courses in cognitive neuroscience and related specialisations.
• Mentor students in academic, career, and personal development.
• Participate in curriculum design and ensure programmes remain current and market‑relevant.
• Contribute to program assessment, accreditation reviews, and continuous improvement processes.
• Supervise undergraduate projects, theses, and graduate dissertations.
• Conduct original research and publish findings in recognised journals.
• Engage in university service, professional bodies, and community outreach.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the department.

Required profile

• Earned Doctoral degree (PhD, PsyD or equivalent) in Psychology with a focus on cognitive neuroscience from an accredited institution.
• Prior teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral level.
• Demonstrated record of scholarly publications meeting CUE standards.
• Registration with the Counselors and Psychologists Board of Kenya or relevant professional body.
• Experience supervising postgraduate students is an advantage.
