Loan Recovery Assistant – Entry Level Finance Role

About the role

The Loan Recovery Assistant supports the finance team in ensuring that loans are repaid according to agreements. This entry‑level position is based in Nairobi and involves on‑site work with members, guarantors and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up on non‑performing loans through calls, emails and text messages.
• Manage direct debits: extract details, submit to banks, reconcile monthly and report.
• Manage check‑off processes, send advice and clearance letters, and follow up.
• Issue default notices in line with policy and respond to member enquiries.
• Refund guarantors when defaulters make payments.
• Process invoices from debt collectors and other recovery service providers.
• Prepare periodic reports on delinquent loans and accounts.
• Verify member information, documents and bank statements during loan assessment.
• Enforce tier system on deposit contributions and handle guarantor substitution per policy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Credit Administration, Co‑operative Management or a related field.
• CPA finalist or Certified Credit Professional (CCP) qualification.
• Minimum 2 years relevant experience in credit management or a similar role.
• Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
