Locum Pharmaceutical Technologist – Eastleigh, Nairobi

About the role

We are seeking a qualified and dependable Pharmaceutical Technologist on a locum basis to support an outpatient facility in Eastleigh, Nairobi. This role offers flexible assignments while contributing to high‑quality pharmaceutical care in a modern healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense prescription and over‑the‑counter medications accurately, adhering to legal and professional standards.
• Review prescriptions for completeness and accuracy before dispensing.
• Provide patients with medication counselling on dosage, administration, storage, and possible side effects.
• Maintain accurate dispensing records and pharmacy documentation.
• Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory management, ordering and stock rotation.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of pharmaceutical products.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and regulatory compliance within the pharmacy.
• Collaborate with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to promote quality patient care.
• Ensure compliance with Pharmacy and Poisons Board regulations and other applicable standards.

Required profile

• Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
• Valid registration and current practising licence issued by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
• Previous experience in a retail pharmacy, hospital or clinic (preferred).
• Excellent knowledge of pharmaceutical products and dispensing procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a busy healthcare environment.
