Maintenance Lead – Manufacturing Plant, Nairobi

About the role

A production plant in Nairobi, Kenya, is looking for an experienced and proactive Maintenance Lead to oversee all maintenance operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role ensures optimal equipment performance, leads the maintenance team and drives continuous improvement to improve efficiency, safety and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure effective preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance to maximise equipment uptime, reliability and performance.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules and implement proactive, data-driven systems to minimise operational disruptions.
• Lead and develop the maintenance team, manage workloads and build technical skills, safety awareness and accountability.
• Manage spare parts, tools and consumables with accurate inventory and cost control.
• Oversee contractors and service providers, ensuring compliance with company, safety and quality standards.
• Promote a strong safety culture and enforce health, safety, environmental and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting for audits, performance tracking and regulatory requirements.
• Keep the workshop clean, organised and 5S compliant, and carry out other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering (or a related field).
• Proven experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Experience with maintenance systems and ERP tools such as SAP.
