Mechanic & Workshop Officer

About the role

The Mechanic & Workshop Officer will ensure safe, high‑quality inspection, assembly, diagnosis, repair and preventive maintenance of bicycles in our client’s workshop in Nairobi. The role combines hands‑on technical work with workshop management to maintain quality standards and accurate records.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect bicycles, identify mechanical and structural faults, and diagnose root causes.
• Perform pre‑service and post‑service inspections, flagging safety‑critical defects.
• Assemble new bicycles to manufacturer specifications, set up brakes, gears, wheels, handlebars and other components using correct torque values.
• Carry out routine servicing, brake and drivetrain adjustments, tyre repairs, and component replacements with approved parts.
• Maintain workshop tools, stands, pumps and torque wrenches; keep the area clean, organized and safe.
• Record parts used, request stock, and coordinate with the Sales & Inventory Officer.
• Provide clear technical explanations to customers and support warranty assessments.
• Follow health‑and‑safety procedures, use PPE and report any incidents.
