Quality Control Team Member

About the role

Foodscape, a division of the Java House Group, is seeking a detail‑driven Quality Control Team Member to join its Quality Assurance team in Nairobi. You will be the eyes of the guests on the production floor, performing product and process checks across kitchens, bakery and coffee roastery to ensure safety, consistency and taste.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily QC activities with minimal supervision, reviewing the production schedule and positioning yourself for relevant checks.
• Carry out visual inspections, audits and line checks in line with HACCP, ISO 22000 and GMP requirements.
• Use ingredient specifications, product recipes, sampling programmes and decision matrices to compare actual results with tolerable limits.
• Participate in the sensory panel to conduct organoleptic analysis and trigger corrective actions.
• Record all checks digitally, quarantine out‑of‑spec items, and monitor quality at raw material intake, packing, release and dispatch stages.
• Escalate any failed processes or products immediately to the shift manager and quality supervisor.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in a QC role within an FMCG environment.
• Computer literate and familiar with ISO 22000/HACCP standards.
• Demonstrated consultative, collaborative and results‑driven behaviour.
