Quality Control Team Member – Entry Level

About the role

Foodscape, a division of the Java House Group, is seeking an entry‑level Quality Control Team Member to join its Quality Assurance team in Nairobi. You will act as the eyes of our guests on the production floor, performing product and process checks across kitchens, bakery and coffee roastery to ensure safety, consistency and taste.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and organise shift activities, reviewing the daily production schedule and positioning yourself to capture all relevant checks.
• Ensure all production follows Quality Control, HACCP and GMP requirements, conducting visual inspections, audits and line checks.
• Use ingredient specifications, recipes, sampling programs and decision matrices to compare actual results against tolerable limits.
• Participate in the sensory panel, performing organoleptic analysis and initiating corrective actions for consistency.
• Record all checks digitally, quarantine non‑conforming ingredients or products, and immediately escalate failures to the shift manager and quality supervisor.

Required profile

• Food science degree or diploma from a recognised institution.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a QC role within an FMCG environment.
• Computer literate with knowledge of ISO 22000/HACCP and GMP standards.
• Demonstrates consultative, collaborative, analytical, pro‑active and change‑orientated behaviours.
• Results‑driven, able to find solutions under adverse conditions.
