Medical Director & Principal General Practitioner

About the role

Runda Oaks Medical is launching a new private primary‑care clinic in Westlands, Nairobi. The Medical Director will act as the principal General Practitioner, delivering direct patient care while shaping the clinic’s clinical governance, protocols, and service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality outpatient primary‑care services as the lead General Practitioner.
• Lead clinical governance, ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
• Develop and implement clinical protocols, workflows, and quality‑assurance processes from the ground up.
• Mentor and support medical and allied health staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety.
• Participate in strategic planning and decision‑making for medical service delivery.
• Oversee clinical audits and quality‑control activities.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MBChB or equivalent) with a valid practising licence from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
• Minimum 8 years of post‑qualification clinical experience.
• At least 3 years in a senior leadership role such as Medical Director, Head of Department, or Clinic Lead.
• Strong general practice/primary‑care clinical expertise.
• Experience in clinic setup, service development, or operational leadership is an advantage.
