Officer - Risk & Compliance

About the role

The Officer - Risk & Compliance supports the Store Manager at a supermarket (express) outlet in Kenya. The role keeps the workplace safe and secure for employees, visitors and customers, and ensures regulatory compliance at the store level.

Key responsibilities

• Protect store employees, customers and assets by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
• Assist in investigations and report writing of store cases, and report incidents such as property damage, thefts, suspicious behaviour and machinery malfunctions to the direct manager.
• Apprehend suspected criminals and follow suspect-handling procedures, and liaise with the police on criminal investigations at store level.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to policies and procedures at the store.
• Deliver training on safety, shrinkage and compliance to store departments.

Required profile

• Diploma in Criminology, Security Management or a related field.
• 2 years of related experience in security and compliance management.

Required skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organised, with strong multitasking, time management and problem-solving skills.
