Pre/Post Operative Registered Nurse

About the role

The Pre/Post Operative Registered Nurse provides direct patient care before, during, and after surgery at the Franciscan Orthopedic Surgery Center. The role involves coordinating with the surgical team, managing supplies, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the peri‑operative process.

Key responsibilities

• Organize time, equipment, supplies, and personnel for efficient case management and maintain inventory levels.
• Perform admission assessments, develop care plans, and document patient care records accurately.
• Provide nursing care in pre‑admission, intra‑operative, and post‑operative settings, including pain management and sedation for specific procedures.
• Communicate patient status to the care team, ensure compliance with HIPAA, and assist with patient positioning and operative site preparation.

Required profile

• High school graduate or GED and graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Active RN license in the appropriate state and CPR certification.
• ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Evidence of leadership qualities and professional references attesting to ethical conduct.
