Project Management & Community Engagement Intern

About the role

The Association of Conservancies is seeking a motivated intern to support the planning, implementation and monitoring of fund‑supported conservation initiatives. You will work closely with the Senior Programme Officer and partner organisations to ensure projects deliver both environmental and community benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain project work plans, schedules and activity trackers.
• Follow up with conservancies and partners on deliverables, flagging delays and risks.
• Prepare project updates, meeting briefs and implementation reports.
• Support coordination of meetings, field visits, workshops and other departmental activities.
• Document decisions, action points and follow‑up actions.
• Monitor progress of initiatives, update monitoring tools and consolidate performance data.
• Assist with field‑based monitoring visits and verification of information.
• Engage with conservancies, community representatives and local stakeholders, collecting feedback on interventions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
• Project management experience gained through academic projects, internships, volunteer work or community‑based initiatives.
• Interest in conservation, community development and sustainable financing.
