Quantity Surveyor – Construction Cost Management

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with project teams, contractors, subcontractors and clients to keep projects within budget and deliver strong commercial outcomes. You will be responsible for cost estimation, planning and control across large‑scale infrastructure and building projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for complex projects.
• Oversee tendering processes, evaluate subcontractor quotations and recommend appointments.
• Manage variation claims, progress payments, valuations and final accounts.
• Conduct cost forecasting, reporting and financial analysis to support project decisions.
• Implement budget controls, identify cost‑saving opportunities and maintain comprehensive cost documentation.
• Carry out site measurements and valuations as required.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, contractors and subcontractors, reporting cost performance to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with construction laws, contractual requirements and company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years progressive Quantity Surveying experience on large‑scale infrastructure and building projects.
• Active registration with a professional body such as RICS, IQSK or equivalent.
• Proven experience in cost estimation, cost planning, project cost control and final account negotiation.
• Strong understanding of construction law and various contract types.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
