Assistant Project Manager – Engineering Projects

About the role

We are looking for a results‑driven, technically strong Assistant Project Manager to support the full project lifecycle—from tendering and technical evaluation through sourcing, procurement, installation, commissioning and handover—on engineering projects in Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating and managing projects from award through to successful completion and handover, monitoring schedules, deliverables and procurement requirements.
• Review tender documents, Bills of Quantities and technical specifications, prepare compliance schedules and support the preparation of technical and commercial tender submissions.
• Identify and evaluate suitable manufacturers and suppliers, negotiate commercially, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Support installation, commissioning, testing and training activities on client sites, troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring proper documentation.
• Travel to project sites within Kenya and, when required, within the region to liaise with clients, consultants, end‑users and manufacturers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognised university.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience in project management, tendering, technical equipment supply or instrumentation.
• Proven ability to interpret technical specifications and prepare detailed tender documentation.
• Experience dealing directly with clients, consultants, end‑users and international manufacturers.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
