Relationship Officer – Micro‑Credit

About the role

The Relationship Officer will manage and grow a quality micro‑credit loan book, ensuring timely repayments and delivering excellent customer service. You will work directly in the field, building strong relationships with borrowers while meeting business and recovery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new clients while maintaining relationships with existing borrowers.
• Match client financial needs with appropriate loan products and services.
• Drive repeat borrowing and cross‑selling of company products.
• Educate clients on loan terms, repayment schedules, and benefits of good credit history.
• Monitor client businesses and align repayments with cash‑flow cycles.
• Follow up on repayments, ensure timely collections and manage delinquent accounts.
• Assess borrower capacity to determine suitable loan size and terms.
• Collect customer feedback and support service and product improvement.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and maintain high service standards.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in micro‑finance, sales, credit or relationship management.
• Good understanding of loan products and repayment management.
• Strong communication, negotiation and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work independently in the field and meet performance targets.
• High integrity, accountability and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills and ability to produce reports.
