Residence Counselor – Stone Quarry

About the role

The Residence Counselor provides daily support to individuals receiving services in residential, educational, and community settings. The role focuses on promoting independence, personal choice, and safety while delivering personal care and encouraging meaningful activities.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a positive role model and advocate for each person supported.
• Assist with personal care tasks such as showering and toileting, adapting support to each individual's needs.
• Encourage participation in recreational, spiritual, and social activities both inside and outside the community.
• Follow individualized plans, collect required data, and complete billing documentation.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, including grounds and vehicles.
• Attend team meetings, 1:1 supervision sessions, and any additional assigned duties.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work mandatory overtime and be reassigned as needed.
• Ability to lift 50 lb independently and assist with heavier loads.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate Springbrook vehicles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
