Sales Manager – Retail & Online Home Appliances

About the role

The Sales Manager will lead both the physical showroom and digital channels (online store, WhatsApp, etc.) for a fast‑growing home‑appliance retailer in Nairobi. You will be responsible for driving revenue, improving conversion rates, and delivering an exceptional customer experience across all touch‑points.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and manage the retail and online sales team to meet and exceed sales targets.
• Develop and execute sales strategies for showroom, website, WhatsApp and other digital channels.
• Monitor daily, weekly and monthly performance against targets and produce regular reports.
• Coach staff on product knowledge, selling techniques, upselling, cross‑selling and customer engagement.
• Ensure timely follow‑up of walk‑in, online enquiries and WhatsApp leads to maximise conversions.
• Analyse sales data to identify improvement areas and implement initiatives to boost acquisition, repeat purchases and retention.
• Collaborate with marketing and online teams to convert campaigns and digital enquiries into sales.
• Oversee merchandising, product presentation and handling of escalated customer complaints.
• Participate in recruitment, onboarding, performance management and ensure compliance with pricing and internal controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience managing sales in a retail environment.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and revenue growth.
• Experience in home appliances, kitchenware, electronics or related product categories is a strong advantage.
• Hands‑on experience managing online, WhatsApp or other digital sales channels.
• Strong commercial awareness, analytical and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to coach, motivate and hold sales teams accountable in a fast‑paced, target‑driven setting.
