Senior AI Engineer / AI Technical Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer who will also act as the AI Technical Lead for our Nairobi office. The successful candidate will drive the design, development and deployment of AI/ML solutions while guiding a team of engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain AI/ML applications that meet business needs.
• Lead and mentor a team of software and data engineers, fostering technical growth.
• Make critical technical decisions regarding architecture, tools and cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable AI solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in software or data engineering.
• Proven track record of delivering AI/ML projects.
• Experience in leading or mentoring engineering teams.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of AI and machine‑learning concepts.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
• Familiarity with AI/ML development tools and frameworks.
• Relevant Microsoft, Azure or cloud certifications are a plus.
