Senior Director, KPA Resource Mobilization

About the role

The Senior Director, KPA Resource Mobilization leads the Resource Mobilization Technical Assistance Facility (RM TAF) within the Keystone Protected Area Finance (KPAF) Initiative. Based in Nairobi, the role drives strategic public‑funding efforts to secure sustainable financing for Africa’s Keystone Protected Areas, working across Conservation International and its partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic leadership for the RM TAF, setting priorities, work plans and budgets.
• Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team delivering public‑funding and funder‑alliance workstreams.
• Oversee pipeline development, donor engagement and grant management to meet programme targets.
• Represent the RM TAF within KPAF leadership and across Conservation International.
• Collaborate with governments, funders and Keystone partners to design and implement financing strategies.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in public funding, resource mobilization or conservation finance.
• Track record of securing significant public investment for environmental projects.
• Strong leadership and team‑building skills in a multicultural, multi‑disciplinary setting.
• Excellent stakeholder management with governments, donors and private partners.
• Deep understanding of protected‑area management challenges in Africa.
