Origin Coffee Trainee – East Africa

About the role

Join a 24‑month structured Origin Trainee Programme that gives you hands‑on experience across the coffee supply chain in East Africa. You will rotate through key functions, receive mentoring from senior leaders and finish with a capstone project that tackles a real business challenge.

Key responsibilities

• Procurement & Quality – source beans, manage supplier relations, conduct cupping and grading.
• Sustainability & Compliance – ensure traceability, certifications and ESG compliance.
• Trading & Market Analysis – analyse futures, price risk and supply‑demand trends.
• Logistics & Export Operations – plan shipments, handle documentation and coordinate deliveries.
• Finance & Accounting – perform margin and cost analysis, work‑capital and trade‑finance monitoring.
• Capstone Project – identify, develop and present a business solution to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Recent graduate (within 2 years) in Agribusiness, Economics or Finance; master’s degree is a plus.
• Maximum two years of work experience and strong leadership potential.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism and willingness to be based in Kenya, Tanzania or Uganda.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Kiswahili or Luganda is an advantage.
• Readiness to travel regionally and internationally.
