Senior Functional Software Engineer (Clojure required)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Functional Software Engineer with at least five years of professional experience. The role focuses on building and maintaining high‑performance backend services, primarily using Java Spring Boot and Clojure, within an event‑driven microservice architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services with Java Spring Boot and Clojure.
• Implement and manage event‑driven systems using message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Apply Test‑Driven Development (TDD) across the development lifecycle, writing unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests.
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to define microservice architecture and ensure scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Monitor performance, conduct profiling and load testing, and implement caching and other optimization techniques.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and promote clean‑code practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong background in Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands‑on experience with functional programming, preferably Clojure.
• Experience building event‑driven microservices and using message brokers.
• Proficiency in TDD and automated testing.
• Ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional teams.
