Senior Platform/Solution Architect – Capacity Planning & Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

The Senior Platform/Solution Architect will translate business demand, application traffic and workload characteristics into concrete infrastructure requirements. You will work on‑site with cross‑functional teams to ensure that microservices, Kubernetes/OpenShift, cloud and on‑premises environments are sized for performance, scalability, resilience and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead capacity planning and dimensioning for applications, platforms and micro‑service based services.
• Convert growth forecasts, transaction volumes and traffic patterns into CPU, memory, pod/replica, node and cluster requirements.
• Develop quantitative workload models for normal, peak, burst and exceptional traffic conditions.
• Provide architecture and capacity recommendations for both cloud and on‑premises environments.
• Identify over‑ or under‑provisioning, bottlenecks and capacity risks in existing environments.
• Define scaling policies, node density and cluster capacity, and validate sizing through performance testing.

Required profile

• Proven experience in capacity planning and performance engineering for large‑scale, micro‑service architectures.
• Strong analytical skills to model workload, traffic and resource utilisation.
• Ability to create short‑, medium‑ and long‑term infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business continuity and disaster‑recovery goals.
