Software Support Engineer

About the role

You will act as the critical bridge between Boost Technology’s engineering team and on‑the‑ground operations across Africa. By triaging technical issues and delivering production code fixes in Python and SQL, you will help thousands of informal retailers enjoy a seamless digital experience.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, triage, and resolve complex technical problems, identifying root causes in the codebase.
• Develop and ship production‑ready fixes, tests, and platform enhancements using Python (Flask) and PostgreSQL.
• Own the QA and testing pipeline, creating automated test suites to prevent regressions and ensure reliability.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience in an engineering, product, or technical support role, preferably in a fast‑paced startup.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python (Flask) and SQL (PostgreSQL) with a strong desire to work on AWS‑hosted infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical requirements for non‑technical stakeholders across diverse cultures and time zones.
