Soil Science Consultant

About the role

The World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) is seeking qualified consultancy candidates to provide expert soil science support for its projects in Kenya. This role involves applying scientific knowledge to improve land management and agroforestry outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver soil science consultancy services for ongoing and new projects.
• Conduct soil assessments, interpret data, and provide recommendations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate soil insights into project designs.
• Prepare clear reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the organization.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in soil science, agronomy, environmental science or a related field.
• Fluent spoken and written English; additional international language(s) a plus.
• Experience working in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams, preferably in a non‑profit setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Commitment to collaborative learning and information sharing.
