Sonographer – Ultrasound Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations for clients at our Nairobi facility. The role involves acquiring high‑quality images, interpreting findings and ensuring client safety and comfort throughout the procedure.

Key responsibilities

• Review client medical history, conduct clinical assessment and perform the ordered sonography examination following professional and facility protocols.
• Capture and synthesize diagnostic images, generate preliminary findings and document any limitations for the supervising physician.
• Maintain client privacy, adhere to infection‑control and sterilisation standards, and ensure safe positioning using appropriate tools.
• Operate and perform preventive maintenance on ultrasound equipment and manage image storage through the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote ultrasound service utilisation and drive client volumes.

Required profile

• Diploma in Ultrasound, Medical Imaging Sciences or Radiography from a recognised institution.
• At least two years of sonography experience in a reputable hospital or medical facility.
• Current practising licence and registration with the relevant professional body.
• Computer literacy and knowledge of applicable legislation.
• Strong communication, observation, analytical abilities and a team‑player attitude.

Required skills

• Proficient operation of ultrasound imaging equipment.
• Experience with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
• Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of ultrasound machines.
• Application of proper client positioning and ergonomic scanning techniques.
• Implementation of infection‑control and sterilisation protocols.
