Systems Administrator – KTNA 7

About the role

The Kenya Trade Network Agency is seeking a Systems Administrator (KTNA 7) to ensure the smooth operation and performance of its IT services. You will manage enterprise servers, networks, and storage while supporting internal teams to improve infrastructure efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain enterprise servers, networks, and storage solutions.
• Implement and enforce system policies and best practices.
• Perform system updates, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot IT‑related issues.
• Monitor system performance to ensure high availability.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance IT infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and regulatory requirements.
• Manage user accounts, access controls, and system permissions.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for procurements and support.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• At least three (3) years of relevant system administration experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Kenya’s constitutional provisions (chapter six) as applicable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows Server operating systems.
• Proficiency with Linux Server operating systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies.
• Network administration expertise.
• Strong understanding of systems security best practices.
• Relevant certifications (Azure Administrator, RHCSA) or equivalent.
