Transitions Manager – Professional Pathways

About the role

The Transitions Manager will lead the Professional Pathways Pillar, supporting individuals with displacement backgrounds to access graduate scholarships and sustainable careers. Based in the RLRH office at the British Institute in Eastern Africa, the role combines programme management, stakeholder coordination and strategic oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor professional pathways programmes for displacement‑affected learners.
• Coordinate with the Mastercard Foundations Scholars Program and partner universities to secure scholarship placements.
• Lead a team of staff and affiliates, ensuring delivery of academic and career development services.
• Produce research insights and reports to inform partners and drive systemic change.
• Manage budgets, contracts and reporting requirements in line with funded objectives.
• Travel occasionally to partner sites and refugee hubs as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in programme or project management within education, humanitarian or development sectors.
• Strong understanding of refugee and displacement issues.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, multilingual environment.
