Utility Engineer – Maintenance & Operations

About the role

The Utility Engineer is responsible for the reliable operation, maintenance, and qualification of all plant utility systems, including chilling, cooling, nitrogen, water, and compressed air equipment. You will ensure continuous utility supply, support modifications, and drive continuous improvement across the facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Execute breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance on utility equipment such as chilling plants, cooling towers, nitrogen plants, boilers, TFHS and pumps.
• Lead erection, commissioning, and qualification/re‑qualification of new utility assets.
• Operate and record parameters for chilled water, chilled brine, cooling water, purified water, nitrogen gas, compressed air, and steam condensate systems.
• Maintain online documentation, log books, equipment history cards, and update P&IDs, schematics, and layouts.
• Prepare and submit qualification reports to QA and manage spare‑part indenting.
• Coordinate contractor work, verify bills, and ensure compliance with modification and sanitation records.
• Drive energy‑conservation initiatives and support audit documentation.
• Develop and revise SOPs for operation, maintenance, and cleaning of utility systems.

Required profile

• Experience in industrial utility equipment maintenance and qualification.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and contractors.
• Strong documentation and record‑keeping skills.
