Workshop Manager (Automotive)

About the role

A leading automotive company in Kenya, recruited by Summit Recruitment & Search, is looking for a Workshop Manager to oversee workshop operations. The role ensures operational efficiency, high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction while leading and developing a high-performing technical team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring timely servicing and repair of vehicles
• Lead, supervise and motivate a team of technicians and mechanics to achieve performance targets
• Ensure all work meets the highest quality and safety standards
• Coordinate workflow between the workshop and the Aftersales department
• Monitor productivity, turnaround times and operational efficiency, and implement improvements
• Manage inventory of spare parts, tools and equipment to ensure availability and cost control
• Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support and training to workshop staff
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations and health and safety standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in an automotive workshop, including proven management experience
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
