Service Advisor (Heavy Commercial) – Nairobi

About the role

A leading automotive company in Kenya, recruited through Summit Recruitment & Search, is looking for a proactive, customer-focused Service Advisor in Nairobi. The advisor acts as the main link between customers and the workshop for service and repair needs of trucks, buses and pickups, ensuring efficient job handling, minimal vehicle downtime and excellent service for individual and fleet clients.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for customers, managing service and repair requests for commercial vehicles
• Capture vehicle issues accurately, prepare job cards and give repair and maintenance advice with cost estimates
• Plan, schedule and coordinate workshop activities for efficient workflow and timely service
• Liaise with technicians and the parts department to support diagnostics, repairs and parts availability
• Monitor job progress, prioritize urgent cases and update customers regularly
• Handle breakdown coordination and field service support to reduce downtime
• Manage inquiries and complaints, promote additional services and maintenance solutions, and keep customers satisfied

Required profile

• Bachelor's or diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 3-5 years' experience in a similar role in the automotive industry
• Proven experience handling commercial vehicles (trucks, buses, pickups or fleet operations)
• Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics and repair processes
