Account Manager - Business Development (Mombasa)

About the role

The Account Manager – Business Development will drive corporate growth for a leading risk advisory and insurance brokerage firm in Mombasa. The role focuses on generating revenue, acquiring new corporate clients, expanding the general insurance portfolio, and ensuring a high‑quality client experience.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new market segments and corporate prospects, build sales pipelines and convert opportunities to meet revenue and premium targets.
• Promote tailored general insurance solutions, cross‑sell and up‑sell to grow the corporate client portfolio.
• Maintain strong client relationships, manage accounts, drive renewals and retention, and ensure excellent service delivery.
• Prepare proposals, quotations and negotiate deals while keeping accurate client records.
• Follow up on premium payments, support timely collections and ensure compliance with company policies and insurance regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Insurance or a related field.
• Professional insurance qualification (IIK or CII) is an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of proven experience in corporate insurance sales, business development or account management.
• Demonstrated track record in new business acquisition, portfolio growth and achieving sales targets.
• Experience managing corporate clients, renewals, premium collection and sales reporting.
