Accountant / Finance Officer

About the role

Long Chain Construction Chemicals Ltd is seeking a professional, detail‑oriented Accountant / Finance Officer to manage day‑to‑day financial operations. The role covers accounting, receivables/payables, cash management, inventory costing, tax compliance, payroll and financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounting records, general ledger, journal entries and prepare monthly financial reports.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable, follow up payments, process supplier invoices and produce weekly balance reports.
• Reconcile bank statements, oversee petty cash, M‑Pay and monitor cash flow.
• Control inventory accounting for raw materials, WIP and finished goods, reconcile physical stock and perform product costing and variance analysis.
• Prepare VAT, PAYE, WHT filings, support statutory tax payments and coordinate with external auditors.
• Process monthly payroll, verify salaries, overtime, bonuses and statutory deductions in collaboration with HR.
• Generate management reports on sales, collections, expenses, inventory, gross profit and cash flow for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce; CPA (K) or ACCA qualification is a plus.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, construction materials, chemicals or FMCG, with strong inventory and cost accounting exposure.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and Kenyan tax regulations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables) and strong Excel modelling.
• Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, ERP or similar accounting systems.
• Ability to perform bank, customer, supplier and inventory reconciliations independently.
• Product costing and variance analysis expertise.
