Accountant – Financial Reporting & Accounts Management

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join our finance team in Westlands, Nairobi. You will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and post financial transactions promptly.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and petty‑cash reconciliations.
• Monitor outstanding invoices, follow up collections and ensure timely supplier payments.
• Assist with internal and external audits and ensure tax compliance (VAT, PAYE, corporate tax).
• Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions.
• Support payroll processing and statutory deductions.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• CPA (K) qualification or equivalent professional certification.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and tax regulations.
• High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.
