Accountant – Full‑time (On‑site)

About the role

Sequid Hardware Ltd is seeking a full‑time accountant to join its Nairobi office. The role will manage day‑to‑day financial operations, prepare accurate reports and ensure tax compliance for a company that supplies construction essentials.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and perform daily bookkeeping.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including invoicing, collections, supplier payments and reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank statements, customer and supplier accounts.
• Monitor budgets, track expenses and analyse variances.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support management decisions.
• Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring statutory compliance.
• Support audits and uphold internal financial controls.
• Optimize use of accounting systems, particularly Zoho Books.

Required profile

• CPA Part 2 minimum qualification.
• Proven experience in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and tax compliance.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Experience in the hardware or construction sector is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work within a team.
