Accountant

About the role

Gasfil Limited is looking for a skilled Accountant to join its Finance department in Nairobi. The role will maintain accurate accounting records, support financial reporting and analysis, and work closely with Operations, Commercial, Procurement, Supply Chain, HR and Executive Management to provide timely and reliable financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual period‑end closing processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements including balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow and equity changes.
• Conduct variance analysis against budgets, forecasts and prior periods, and present actionable insights.
• Maintain the general ledger, perform reconciliations, and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded.
• Support tax compliance, cash‑flow monitoring and the budgeting/forecasting cycle.
• Collaborate with departmental heads to understand operational drivers and identify financial risks and opportunities.

Required profile

• At least 36 months of relevant accounting experience (mid‑level).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
• Commercial awareness and ability to identify financial risks.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
