Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a mid‑level Accountant to join Karunguru Group’s finance team in Westlands, Nairobi. The role involves end‑to‑end accounting, financial reporting and supporting special projects within a manufacturing and warehousing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and oversee full‑cycle financial accounting.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable and working capital to ensure timely processing.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and management reports for senior leadership.
• Handle tax filings, statutory compliance and coordinate audit activities.
• Perform reconciliations, implement internal controls and support risk‑management initiatives.
• Ensure data quality in accounting systems, primarily using Zoho Books.
• Provide financial information and analysis for special projects and investigations as required.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of relevant accounting experience (approximately 36 months).
• Mid‑level qualification in accounting or finance.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and reporting standards.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Knowledge of tax, statutory compliance and audit processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Zoho Books accounting software.
