Accountant – Operations (Visa Application Centre)

About the role

VAS Global Services is seeking an experienced Accountant – Operations to oversee the financial activities of its Visa Application Centre in Nairobi. The role will manage branch accounting, cash and revenue reconciliation, reporting and payroll support while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily financial transactions, cash collections, visa fees, POS settlements and bank deposits.
• Handle billing, fee collection, service charges and revenue postings.
• Process refunds, waivers and revenue adjustments, and prepare regular financial and revenue reports.
• Perform cash, bank, POS and revenue reconciliations and support payroll processing including attendance, overtime, allowances and incentives.
• Monitor revenue, transaction volumes, payroll costs and operational expenses, and assist with budgeting and cost control.
• Investigate discrepancies, maintain audit‑ready records and support internal, statutory and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, accounting standards and internal financial controls, and identify opportunities to improve processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 4–5 years of experience in accounting, finance or audit, preferably in BPO or visa services.
• Strong knowledge of cash, bank, POS and revenue reconciliation, VAT and statutory compliance.
• Experience with payroll calculations, budgeting, cost control and financial analysis.
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or CMA is preferred.
