Accountant – Receivables

About the role

The Accountant – Receivables will manage the end‑to‑end accounts receivable process for a fast‑growing hospitality business. You will ensure accurate invoicing, timely collections, and maintain the integrity of the AR ledger while supporting cash‑flow forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Generate and dispatch invoices and statements in line with contracts and pricing.
• Monitor incoming payments, allocate receipts, and reconcile unallocated items.
• Drive collection activities through calls, emails and field visits, and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Maintain a controlled filing system for invoices, delivery notes, contracts and related documents.
• Prepare AR aging reports, collection trackers and provide weekly/monthly updates to the Head of Finance.
• Supervise the AR team, ensure compliance with approval workflows for credit notes and discounts.
• Support month‑end close by verifying AR ledger completeness and reconciling to the general ledger.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field.
• CPA (K) III, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• 5+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable / Credit Control, preferably in a hospitality environment.
• Proven experience supervising an AR team and coordinating collections.
• Strong knowledge of invoicing, billing, dispute management and credit control processes.

Required skills

• QuickBooks or similar ERP system.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• General ERP proficiency.
