Accounting Specialist – Public Sector

About the role

Greenstep is looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join its public‑sector team, focusing on municipalities, cities and other public organisations. You will work on diverse client assignments, provide consulting‑style support and develop your expertise across a wide range of public‑sector finance topics.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accounting, financial‑statement and tax services for public‑sector clients.
• Communicate, advise and report financial information to client stakeholders.
• Collaborate with team members and team leaders on client projects and internal knowledge sharing.
• Participate in process‑improvement initiatives and adopt new technology solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in municipal or public‑sector accounting, either in a consulting or in‑house role.
• Relevant higher education (e.g., tradenomi) – KLT training is a plus.
• Fluent Finnish and good English; additional language skills are a bonus.
• Familiarity with electronic accounting processes and systems.
• Interest in process development, technology adoption and AI usage in finance.

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
