Accounts Assistant – Finance & Accounts (Ksh 40-50K)

About the role

Our client, a dynamic real‑estate company, is seeking a detail‑oriented, analytical and commercially‑minded Accounts Assistant to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations and support accurate financial reporting and sound financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records, process invoices, receipts, payments and expenses, and keep the general ledger up to date.
• Perform regular bank, supplier, customer and other account reconciliations.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable, including supplier invoice processing, payment authorisation, customer invoicing and credit‑control follow‑up.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, cash‑flow reports and assist with budgeting and variance analysis.
• Ensure statutory compliance by preparing VAT, PAYE, withholding tax returns and liaising with auditors and tax advisers.
• Support monthly payroll processing and reconcile payroll‑related accounts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field; CPA (K) qualification or progress toward it is highly desirable.
• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a commercial or real‑estate environment.
• Good knowledge of Kenyan tax and statutory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines independently.
• Excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for reconciliations, reporting and analysis.
• Experience with accounting software / ERP systems.
