Accounts Assistant – Payables

About the role

The Accounts Assistant – Payables will support the finance team by ensuring accurate processing of vendor invoices, timely payments, and thorough month‑end reconciliations. This role is essential for maintaining strong vendor relationships and compliance with company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Verify invoices against purchase orders and supporting documentation, resolving any variances within two business days.
• Gather and organize all necessary documents to facilitate seamless payment processing for local, intercompany, and foreign vendors.
• Execute accurate and timely payments in line with company policies.
• Prepare vendor reconciliations, AP general ledger control reconciliations, and balance‑sheet reconciliations by the 10th of each month.
• Run, analyse, and distribute monthly GR/IR reports, highlighting overdue purchase orders.
• Compile and submit month‑end financial reports within established cut‑off dates.
• Communicate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve queries, address discrepancies, and obtain missing documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• CPA qualification (Foundation/Section 2 completed) is required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a Finance or Accounts Payable function.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader MS Office suite.
• Experience with SAP is strongly preferred.
