Accounts Intern

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Intern to support our finance team in Nairobi. The role offers hands‑on experience in bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and financial reporting within a fast‑growing real‑estate company.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the cash book and manage the asset register, liabilities and stock control.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Record financial transactions and analyse expenditure and income on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
• Assist in budgeting, planning and timely submission of taxes and statutory deductions (NHIF, NSSF, PAYE).
• Maintain relationships with bankers and advise on petty cash and staff loan controls.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies, prepare payments and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
• Provide answers to accounting procedure questions and protect confidential financial information.

Required profile

• A degree in commerce, accounting, finance or an equivalent qualification.
• CPA or ACCA certification is preferred.
• At least one year of experience in a fast‑paced accounting environment.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and ability to handle multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
