Accounts Payable Assistant

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance team in Nairobi. The role ensures accurate processing of vendor invoices, timely payments and proper month‑end reporting, supporting the company’s financial integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Verify invoices against purchase orders and supporting documents, resolve any variances within two business days.
• Prepare and process payments for local, inter‑company and foreign vendors in line with company policies.
• Perform vendor reconciliations, month‑end general‑ledger and balance‑sheet reconciliations, and generate GR/IR reports by the 10th of each month.
• Communicate with internal departments and external suppliers to address queries, obtain missing documentation and resolve discrepancies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• CPA qualification (Foundation/Section 2) completed.
• Minimum two years of experience in an Accounts Payable or finance function.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with SAP (preferred) and general MS Office applications.
