About the role
The Conduct and Discipline Service (CDS) within the Administrative Law Division of the UN Office of Human Resources is seeking an Administrative Assistant. Reporting to the Senior Programme Management Officer, you will support the implementation of UN conduct standards and provide essential administrative, human‑resource and budget assistance.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with HR activities such as recruitment, placement, promotion, relocation, performance appraisal and staff separation, ensuring UN rules are applied consistently.
- Conduct vetting of civilian, military and police personnel for prior misconduct and support updates to the Case Management Tracking System (CMTS).
- Monitor staffing tables and prepare statistical data and charts.
- Support preparation and review of financial and HR proposals, budget submissions and performance reports.
- Provide calendar management for the Chief of CDS and draft routine correspondence on administrative, financial audit and personnel matters.
- Handle official travel arrangements, monitor consultant payments, plan physical office space and maintain office technology and equipment.
Required profile
- Professionalism with the ability to perform a broad range of administrative functions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under delegated authority.
- Excellent written communication skills for drafting correspondence.
Required skills
- Experience with the Case Management Tracking System (CMTS) or similar case‑management tools.
